Best item to get with an Armbrace - Guild Wars Forums

Hey all,

Finally got around to getting another Armbrace, and I've got a question:

Which item is best to get with an Armbrace? I've already got a shield, so I don't need one of those (I won't necessarily use the item with the shield though, as it is currently sitting on a character I don't play anymore)

I'd like to have the best combination of looks and utility, and I'd like to know what others think about Tormented weapons. I've got pretty much every class, so anything could be utilized.

Most overrated skin in the game IMO, it's almost all ugly as hell. Especially the shields. No possible way you can have the best combination of looks with one of those things.

If you absolutely have to use the Armbrace, get a staff or scythe. Of course those are both two handed weapons, which means no shield...so I'm basically not helping you at all.

If you just want it to sell it, sell the Armbrace, it will get you more money then an item (since the buyer can then get what he wants).

If it is for your own use as a warrior, get a hammer.

Really, it just depends on what characters you have "need" nice things. Ie, I already have all the fancy looking scythes I need. Only thing I really need that I don't have fancy stuff for already are a couple of spears, necro items, and a nice looking fire offhand.

I like the tormented shield. It goes very well with a chaos axe and chaos gloves.
It also looks good with pinkish purple armors.
Tormented staff is also great.

Besides those though and maybe a few more, I don't feel much tormies are worth it.

I'm a big fan of the Sword, Scythe, Daggers, or Focus on the right character/armor set.

As far as value, staves, foci, and wands will be hardest to resell, or anything with a less often sought after requirement (tactics, for example).

You'll get the most use out of them for multiple characters if u pick spear,axe, or sword.

Mod it to caster or use other mods for physical builds. Spear is probally the best to do this

Good point. I kind of like the spear, as it appears understated and seemingly not as humongous as the Voltaic. Got one of those and have no idea how my monk can carry that giant thing around all day.

a tormented scythe looks great with almost any armor set. elegant, graphically beautiful, and simply shaped. Most excellent with primeval armor.

I agree with this. Tormented weapons have terrible skins. I actually think destroyer weapons look better(destroyer staff ftw).

But if you had to get one get the scythe as it will sell faster.

sell the brace buy a voltaic spear, dye it black and use it with your shield to show off your e-peen!!!!!!

melee weapons can double for caster weps and warrior usage. although if u dedicate it, kinda removes this duality. staves can be used with caster classes as well as energy objects for purposes such as trapping and perma sin. once again, won't exactly work that way if dedicated ;-). as for best looking tormented, u already have the shield ;-).

I don't like any of the tormented skins except the bows. The focus items look like the burner coils on my stove, and the staffs look like eggplants on a stick.

I Personally only really like the Torm Recurve Bow since i use for PvP.
If you don't want that, rather sell the armbrace and get another wep.

imho only good skin in staff &but i would sell & get Destroyer Gauntlets with Destroyer Spear & Magma's Shield looks GREAT, but im sure any 1 handed destoryer weapon would look good with Magma's Shield :S
